Bombay Kitchen in Penang is an absolute gem! The Indian food here is hands down the best I've ever had. We ordered butter chicken, chicken masala, lemon chicken with rice, and both garlic and cheese naan, and every bite was incredible. The flavors were rich, authentic, and perfectly balanced. The cocktails were fantastic too, making the whole experience even better. If you're in Penang, this is a must-stop for a memorable meal. Highly recommend!
Definitely the place to go for great Indian food!So much choice on the menu. The masala pizza and the chicken wrap looked really good.We had the aloo gobi and mutton rogan josh. Both were really really nice, some bits of mutton weren’t great but overall really enjoyed it. The butter naan was also great.
It might be a little unfair to only award 3 stars for service, but to be honest, the staff were overwhelmed by how many guests turned up to our first Penang Curry Club meet-up....However the food was super great and because everyone ordered different, we got to sample lots of different items from the menu. They do an excellent choice of cocktails at a reasonable price in their atmospheric bar/restaurant...
If you’re on the lookout for a dining experience that ticks all the right boxes, this restaurant is a must-visit!The food is amazing, both in taste and presentation. Each dish bursts with flavor, leaving you savoring every bite. And the portions are generous, ensuring you leave with both your taste buds and appetite satisfied. The cozy ambience makes it an ideal spot for everything from a quiet dinner to a lively get-together. Adding to the charm is their impressive selection of gin—a treat for gin enthusiasts! The staff are incredibly helpful, always attentive without being intrusive, ensuring your dining experience is smooth and enjoyable. It’s rare to find a place that combines quality, comfort, and excellent service so effortlessly. I’ll definitely be returning!
It has such a great variety of dishes, and honestly, everything I’ve tried so far tastes amazing. The flavors are on point, and the prices are super reasonable too. It’s easily one of the best places for Indian food I’ve been to — definitely worth checking out!
Wonderful food in a delightful setting. Waiting staff very attentive. We sampled a couple of mutton curries cooked to our requested spice level as we like it hot!Two garlic naans to mop up all the delightful sauce.
It was our last night in Malaysia and we fancied having a curry. We also fancied a beer with it, and combining the two isn't always easy, as a lot of places don't sell alcohol. We found Bombay Kitchen, very close to where we were staying, and decided to try it.We get a lot of curries at home, but not made from fish, so we decided to go for that.Starters were fish tikka, which was extremely good, and paneer tikka, large pieces of cheese cooked on a kebab with vegetables. For our main course we ordered fish varuval, which was quite strong and malabar fish curry, which was milder with coconut. We also had garlic naan, which was thin and tasty and jeera rice.In practice the fish tikka came first, then everything else came together and we just mixed and matched. My wife found the fish varuval slightly hot, but it suited me, and she really liked the malabar curry. We drank several beers and some water along with our food and got the beer at a slightly reduced happy hour price, which applies until 9pm.We didn't manage to eat everything and rounded off the evening with a cocktail outside, where a very helpful member of staff gave us a fan.The place was quite busy and the staff were helpful and attentive. A member of staff told us that they had a mainly international clientele. This was a very positive last evening, surprisingly cheap by UK standards, with dishes that were well- prepared and a bit different from what we are used to.
